The warm and welcoming space of The Rabbit Restaurant offers a homely menu, complimented with quirky interiors and features an extensive wine cellar with the finest labels from around the world. With a weekday lunch offer and a fresh, innovative dinner menu, The Restaurant and Hunter's Bar is a popular spot with the locals. Florence (or Flo for short) is our much-loved resident pup at The Rabbit. From greeting guests as they check in to helping with the day-to-day activities around the hotel, Florence can't wait to make new friends when you come to visit!

We met a night of a bonfire July 2021 and got engaged one year later July 2022!

Ceremony

We had our ceremony in the Boathouse lead by our pastor with all our closest family and friends.

What made you choose The Loft to host your day?

We loved the whole rustic, boho vibe of The Loft, including the banquet style tables. It was different from anywhere else we had seen and went with our own style perfectly.

Favourite memory of your Wedding

Our ceremony has to be the favourite part. The walk down the aisle, the tears from Jonathan and our laughs together.

Tell us a little about how you met & talk us through the proposal

We met during the peak of the lockdown during 2020. While our first dates certainly weren't traditional, mainly grocery shopping and sitting on the opposite side of benches in the park, they were filled with so much laughter and love that we knew we had found something truly special. We have many shared interests, most of which involve sitting on the sofa in front of a tv, but we also enjoy heading out together on day trips and meeting up with friends. In mid-2022 while on a trip back to Northern Ireland for Chris's 30th birthday, he received the greatest birthday gift he could imagine in Erika agreeing to marry him.

YOUR DAY, YOUR WAY

Ceremony

We got married in the Sacred Heart Church in Ballyclare. It was a beautiful ceremony, filled with our family and friends who travelled from England, America, and the Philippines to spend the day with us. It was, for the most part a very traditional ceremony, but with a little bit of a Philippine twist to make it extra special.

What made you choose The Loft to host your day?

We were planning from Cambridge so at first, we were only able to look online. We checked out a bunch of places but whenever we found The Loft, we knew that it was the place we wanted, it was love at first sight.

Favourite memory of your Wedding

The whole day was incredible, from the moment we set foot in the church until we retired from the dance floor. Everything ran so smoothly, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We just went wherever we needed to be and the staff at The Loft handled the rest.

1. What is a clay ritual?

Available as part of your accommodation experience at The Rabbit, a clay ritual is a fun, interactive spa experience designed to energise, hydrate & detoxify the body and mind. There is no therapist required for this detoxifying treatment, making it the perfect spa experience for the first-time spa-goer. Beginning with an application of mineral rich clay, cover the body from tip to toe before the room fills with steam allowing the clay to absorb and draw out impurities. Shower off the clay to reveal skin that’s positively cleansed, hydrated, and super soft. Enjoy a duo clay ritual with your significant other or have some fun with a friend whilst soaking up the beautiful views across the lake.

2. What are the benefits of clay rituals?

The clay is very rich in minerals and has an abundance of nutrients that will draws out all impurities from the skin. The clay and steam together will help cleanse and hydrate the skin, leaving it super soft! Circulation is also improved with this treatment, as the heat and steam encourage blood flow around the body. As well as treating the skin, the clay ritual experience will also relax the mind and reduce stress. Get ready to slide into calm, you deserve the break.

3. Is the clay ritual suitable for all skin types?

Yes absolutely. The clay ritual is suitable for all skin types.

4. How long would you recommend keeping the clay on before rinsing?

You will apply the smooth, warm clay, which deeply absorbs into your skin. As the room begins to fill with steam your pores open, allowing the clay to naturally absorb and draw out impurities leaving your skin feeling smoother and nourished. Don’t worry about making a mess, have fun applying the clay before allowing the steam to activate its nourishing properties. We recommend leaving the clay on for 15 minutes before washing it off.

5. Can you use The Spa after having a clay ritual?

Of course! We encourage you to take some time to enjoy our facilities in The Spa after your clay ritual treatment. From the Roman bath, heated pebble beach, hot tubs, salt cave, steam room, sauna, and if you’re brave enough, the cold-water bucket, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
